Mind ft. Kai [Jack Ü] // StéLouse Refux

In celebration for hitting 20k followers on Soundcoud,Denver-based Producer StéLouse [Co-founder of Hebinomichi] released his rework of Jack Ü‘s [Diplo + Skrillex] track called Mind. I am in denial on how addicting this rework is. I have been playing this for the past hour and I just can’t help playing it over and over. Approaching the 3 minute mark is just pure fireworks in my ears.

He released his 4-track EP entitled The City and it’s been one great ride throughout that 17 minutes of smooth tunes. Sixteen is definitely my favorite but The City is way too pleasing and relaxing to the ears! Hit play and have a listen!

Those who are going to SXSW, they will be playing on March 17th 8pm-2am at The Madison 307 W 5th St. Be sure to catch them!

Herzeloyde – Milly. G EP

Admittedly, I’m a relatively new fan of Herzeloyde, having found out about him after Geotheory remixed his tune “Phanboy”. Despite that, the Melbourne producer has quickly become one of my favourites, following a string of hits including “Trajectory”, his collab with Terrorrhythm’s KRNE.

Now he’s put out Milly. G, his first bandcamp release and one that cements his up-and-coming status. The project consists of fast-paced, glitchy trap sounds but switches up with “feels like”, a synthy, multi-layered, forward-thinking R&B jam that features Cypress and happens to my top pick.

Check out “feels like” below, and grab the project at Herzeloyde’s bandcamp.

Wonder Woman [Elhae] // Telescope Thieves

Celebrating 5k followers and hitting 300k plays on Soundcloud, Telescope Thieves gives back with a rework of Elhae‘s Wonder Woman. I love the original as much as the next guy and I adore Elhae but nobody can deny that this edit is as addicting. I might have played it a dozen times. Flawless, sexy but what I love most about it is that he kept it simple. Which makes it more attractive and pleasing to the ears.

We have featured Miami-based DJ Producer a few times and have played his tracks on some of the shows so it is safe to say he is one of our favorites. Listen to his seductive track Own.me. A Happy Post-Valentine’s to everybody!

Find Your Love [Drake] // Joe Lalich Remix

Let me start off my year on First Ear with this remix of Drake’s Find Your Love I stumbled upon my feed. I have a weird fondness for Drake so when I hit play, it’s like all my love for the man shifted and flowed right through Detroit-based Producer Joe Lalich. Amazing twist and rework with interesting vocals towards the middle part. Watch out for an EP coming out soon. For now check out his Soundcloud/JoeLalich for a few of his releases.

Feki – Safe Return.

Henry Feki is one of alaya.’s special friends. They’ve said so. A few exciting and close artists have joined the ‘special friends’ series to release upcoming new music, and if alaya’s first compilation was anything to go by, they’re aiming for the sky and reaching the clouds. Feki has taken Mark Morrison’s classic ‘Return of the Mack’ and flipped it around using clean samples and plucky synths. He is a young producer with plenty of big ideas, and they each come through individually in this track. We expect more to come. alaya. are a very fast growing collective and their reputation is well deserved in such a short time. They’ve been named by wantelectronic as one of the Essential Artist Collectives to watch out for, alongside Flow-Fi, Trapdoor Records and Soulection. With a strong following and support from the likes of HillyDilly, Vice and Thump, founders Simon and Nathan can’t put a foot wrong. Check out Feki’s ‘Safe Return’ below and hit the button for the free download.

Esta – ‘Can’t Wait’ (ft. SPZRKT)

This tune is so damn chill!

Soulection’s Esta has put out a song with so much vibes. The producer/DJ enlists SPZRKT (pronounced Spazzy Rocket) for the vocals who channels Miguel creating a song that will make anyone melt. He sings with such urgency, you feel his anticipation and you understand why he really can’t wait.

I just can’t listen to this song enough, these two clearly make magic together and I hope another collaboration is in the works.

Now listen and take it all in

SickBoy – ‘Yes’

SickBoy is a brand new collaboration straight out of Calgary, Canada. Producers Nick Beadman (SassyKitty) and his university buddy Michael Saunders (MrMS) have got together and made some music that has turned out pretty well, we think. First Ear has had the privilege of previewing their first track from a new EP called ‘Gear” set to be released this month. The track is called ‘Yes’, and it’s a wonderfully cheerful major melody of buzzy, smooth sampling and nice light kicks and snares. These two producers have only been working together for a couple of months, but we are excited to see what comes next. This track has a dance vibe, without being too overwhelmed with bass, and the reverse vocals and strong rhythm are a joy to listen to. We played this exclusive track on last week’s radio show 008, and it’s now available to download for free from our Soundcloud page. Watch out for the EP and plenty more exciting material.

Invention – ‘Hallucinature’ on FBR.

Canadian producer Invention, part of the fantastic Kolossus Records Collective, is releasing an outstanding EP on the infamous and ever-growing Future Beats Records tomorrow. We can’t wait. Future Beats Records run by DJ Complexion and Yazbeatz is very quickly becoming THE place to release that future sound, so keep an eye out for many more special releases over the coming months. ‘Hallucinature’ will be a 4-track record of bass, beats and bruh!
