Our focus is on posting new music, but every once in a while a track that was released months ago pops up on my soundcloud, and its so good I feel like I have to share it anyway, this is one of those tracks. The smooth saxophone accompanied by a funky little bassline will have you playing this on repeat.
My lovely friend DJ Optimus Funk kindly reposted a track this morning produced by Tom Misch featuring his sister Laura playing a fabulous sax riff. I found the track on Laura’s Soundcloud page, and it seems she is only just starting to put her stuff out there. She hasn’t got much to boast in the way of material, yet, but that may be because she is young and, luckily for us, undiscovered. The track I’m showing you has only just gone up online yesterday, and features the vocals of the 18 year old Tom. Anyway, it has a wonderfully jazzy feel, and great soulful tone. I love it. This time of year always calls for cosy nights in, and listening to slow saxophone riffs and gentle piano melodies will certainly put you in a relaxed mood. If you enjoy the likes of Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Dwele and D’angelo, you’ll dig this low-key vibe. Here is ‘Follow’.
